HOW TO BE INVOLVED: Plans are underway to celebrate 1900 years of Hadrian’s Wall throughout 2022 with the Hadrian’s Wall 1900 Festival. It is scheduled to take place between 24th January 2022, which is Emperor Hadrian’s birthday, until the time of the Roman Festival of Saturnalia, 17-23 December 2022.
WHAT IS A UK “GEM TOWN”?
There are 51 towns/cities in the UK which have a very special designation of “Gem Town.” and we need to go back to the 1960’s when planning considerations were not enough to save some historic town and city centres and action was needed to save them.
